VILARINHO DAS FURNAS, by António Campos (1971), was presented on September 16 at the location where the film was shot, now Terras de Bouro, on the North of Portugal, in a special session of the FILMar project, as part of the European program A Season of Classic Films, by the Association of European Cinematheques.
Cinemateca Portuguesa is now making the film available free of charge on its website, thus contributing to the wider dissemination of Portugal's film heritage. Accessible from all over the world between September 17 and October 4, the link has subtitles in English, French and Spanish, as well as the option of Portuguese subtitling for the deaf, which includes the indication of sound elements.
This film was digitized by Cinemateca Portuguesa under the FILMar project, with the support of the European Financial Mechanism EEAGrants 2020-2024, through which the director's filmography has been worked on over the last year and a half.

The Season of Classic Films is a program organized by the Association of European Cinematheques (ACE) supported by the European Commission's Creative Europe MEDIA program, involving 22 institutions dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of heritage films. The program, which runs from June to December 2023, is concerned with developing young audiences, as well as promoting the screening of classic films in new digital copies.
FILMar is a project coordinated by Cinemateca Portuguesa, and supported by the European Financial Mechanism EEAGrants Portugal 2020-2024, under the Culture Program, operated by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage, involving Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
